Welcome to our blog/site for our upcoming church plant in Kiev, Ukraine. Take a look around, and please let us know if you are interested in being a part of this work in any way: church planting team member, short-term missions or material support. God bless!
A clear blue sky over fields ripe for harvest: that is the meaning of the Ukrainian flag. Ukraine is a nation of harvest, both in the literal and spiritual sense. It was the breadbasket of the former Soviet Union and now Kiev, Ukraine has the largest, fastest-growing churches in all of Europe. Every Nation has several churches in Ukraine, and in 2007 there are plans to plant a church in the capital, Kiev, which is a hub for students from all over the Russian-speaking world. Students, for the most part, remain unreached.
Ukraine, like many other neighboring countries, suffered terribly during World War II. Millions died, leaving a communist-oppressed remnant living in the darkness of either mysticism or hopelessness. In 1993, while Ukrainians were experiencing their newfound independence, Every Nation planted a church in the city of Lviv, holding outreach meetings in the former Museum of Atheism where many accepted Jesus Christ. Today we have several churches in western Ukraine all led by Ukrainians.
Over the past few years, the desire to plant a church with a training center for the Russian-speaking world has been growing. Kiev is the place and now is the time.
In 2004, almost a million Ukrainians gathered at Independence Square in peaceful demonstration against fraudulent elections. This was dubbed the Orange Revolution, since orange was the main opposing candidate’s color.
Events like these show that freedom is precious to Ukrainians, even though the nation is still rife with corruption. When you walk through the center of Kiev today, affluence is apparent everywhere. Materialism has replaced Communism, but the spiritual need is as great as it has ever been as people are searching for answers in every area of life. Ukraine has experienced remarkable positive change in the last few years, while Russia and other nations in the region are becoming more restrictive. Therefore, as we continue to advance God’s kingdom in Every Nation in Our Generation, we believe that Ukraine will become a gateway to Eastern Europe. We want you! This requires a team effort, and we are praying that God will provide many families and individuals to help accomplish this great work by:
-
Joining a short-term outreach trip.
-
Considering going for a year or more to help in the following areas:
-
Campus/International student ministry
-

Praying for Ukraine and the surrounding Russian-speaking nations on a weekly basis.
Pray for Ukraine
Lord, bless the nation of Ukraine and send forth laborers into the harvest. We ask you to bless, protect, and strengthen the pastors and leaders there. We ask you to lead and guide the team as a church is planted in Kiev. Save people from all over the Russian-speaking world so that other nations will be blessed through the work in Ukraine.
